For many years, DB Netz AG has been working intensively on the introduction of digital control and safety systems in order to replace the various interlocking technologies used today across the network. DB Netz sets standards and implements them systematically together with the railway industry. Open and standardized interfaces and modular design of the digital signal boxes ensure, among others, more competition among manufacturers. Workplaces will become more modern and attractive, the qualification of employees simpler, more uniform and quicker. A Radermacher & Partner colleague was an interim manager in the field of control and safety systems. The project aimed at developing a rollout strategy for digital signal boxes. After the analytical and conceptual phase, the senior consultant took on the role of interim manager "Development and preliminary planning" as a temporary component of the client's organisational structure.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a Japanese multi-industry company with numerous shareholdings worldwide. Emishaft GmbH was founded as the European headquarters of the Japanese industrial investor Kawasaki and other private investors of Japanese origin. Radermacher & Partner GmbH assisted with the acquisition of patents for the production of engine parts for the automotive industry. Once the patent rights had been acquired, Radermacher & Partner provided the technical managing director as an interim manager for the industrialisation phase. The mission of this assignment was to get the company ready for the development, production and sale of drive shafts, camshafts, engine components and drive systems for high-speed internal combustion engines. The interim assignment lasted roughly three years until the company had been successfully placed on a sound footing.
Siemens AG
Siemens Transportation Systems/Siemens Mobility produces infrastructure components, rail vehicles and vehicle components for the railway sector. Following a merger and acquisition phase lasting several years, the company’s global capacities were restructured. Radermacher & Partner supported Siemens in various ways during this phase, for instance with an interim management assignment. One of the Radermacher & Partner consultants took over a line management role as head of the international factory network in the Mobility sector. In this position, our consultant was responsible for restructuring all the factories according to a uniform role profile, e.g. lead factories for model series and certain technologies (steel construction, aluminium production, chassis systems, etc.). The overall production capacity was allocated on the basis of order volumes, role profiles, core competencies, technical equipment, cross-border capacities, different local content requirements across the globe, logistics expenses, etc. In addition, a globally standardised production system was introduced according to the principles of Lean Management.
DB Netz AG
DB Netz AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, is Europe’s biggest railway infrastructure company. Radermacher & Partner took on an interim management assignment to assist the multi-year turnaround process with the aim of improving the company’s economic sustainability. Radermacher & Partner supplied the head of business development and integrated management systems. The responsibilities of this role included drawing up a turnaround programme with around 15 strategic projects to sustainably improve the company’s economic efficiency, as well as introducing an extensive change management process. This involved redesigning the company’s structures and processes, conducting the accompanying communication measures and delivering training courses for over 5,000 employees per year. The turnaround programme ultimately proved to be the key to lasting, successful change at DB Netz AG. Achievements included considerably increasing the company’s economic efficiency, enhancing its capacity performance, assuring quality and optimising customer service.
Valeo S.A.
Valeo S.A. is a listed French automotive supplier of original equipment for cars and commercial vehicles. Radermacher & Partner GmbH supported Valeo in several post-merger integration (PMI) phases. For instance, Radermacher & Partner deployed interim managers as the heads of technical integration for selected production lines in the context of production relocations. Key responsibilities included incorporating acquired companies/automotive suppliers into Valeo’s group structure, relocating and realigning the production capacities, introducing and providing training in globally standardised production principles (Lean Management) and reporting on the current status of the transfer to the French group. Our consultants provided extensive training for the staff involved in operational activities in the factories.
Genthe-X-Coatings GmbH
Genthe-X-Coatings (GXC) GmbH is an innovative, fast-growing high-tech company that supplies functional surface finishes. GXC’s manufactures coated products for various applications in the automotive industry and the fields of safety/protection, sensors/displays, optics and coverings/glazings with functional coatings based on nanotechnology. Radermacher & Partner supplied the interim head of quality management during the industrialisation phase to stabilise series production, with a particular focus on a product line for a first-tier system supplier in the automotive industry. Activities included product and process analyses, statistical test design and carrying out failure mode and effects analyses to stabilise the quality of products and processes. Our on-site consultants were responsible for reporting to the stakeholders, in particular to executive board members, shareholders and the client’s management team (first-tier system suppliers in the automotive industry).

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
CVC Capital Partners is one of the ten biggest private equity companies in the world. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is one of the world’s biggest investment banking and securities trading companies. Radermacher & Partner assisted the institutional investors CVC and GS in their acquisition of automotive suppliers. For example, Radermacher & Partner appointed interim managers to serve as task force managers during the PMI phase in order to optimise the start-up of the production lines for interior systems of selected series of car models for OEMs. The consultants from Radermacher & Partner were responsible for various tasks, including product and process analyses, statistical test design and carrying out failure mode and effects analyses to stabilise product quality during the series start-up phases. The consultants’ key responsibilities included reporting to the stakeholders on a regular basis, especially to the members of the executive board, shareholders (including CVC and GS) and the management team of the OEM from the automotive industry.
